The VC industry is flooded with early-stage investors who are struggling to generate significant returns, coupled with others who have closed up shop -- but Swell VC is bucking these trends. They’re small by design, often the first investment into a company, and have a concentrated portfolio strategy that focuses on quality versus quantity; they just needed meaningful, credible visibility to showcase their established success in the VC world.
By emphasizing the firm’s unique values, we elevated their people-first approach to showcase how they identify founders with startup DNA and how critical the function of recruiting is to build world-class startup teams. We pursued podcast interviews and profiles for the two co-founders as a way to showcase their personal perspectives and ideologies behind finding market-defining opportunities. With the close of the firm’s second fund, our announcement emphasized the track record – DPI-producing acquisitions, portfolio company momentum, and previous investors doubling down on their commitments up to 10x.
Results
Our 6-month project began with building foundational exposure for the firm and founders to increase SEO and general visibility, before making a much larger splash with the Fund II announcement. We secured more than 35 placements across business, tech, and VC media like the Wall Street Journal, VC Journal, Pulse2.0, Techopedia, and others. With newsletter exposure and social media visibility from top industry influencers, we reached a potential audience of 29 million, with strategic exposure in media sources read by LPs, founders, and business leaders. The exposure had an advertising value equivalency of $275,000 – but cost the client a tiny fraction of that.
